Naina Lagaye Ke Mein Pachhtaee - Thumri

Sitar Maestro Ustad Shujaat Hussain Khan beautifully blends his gentle singing in this thumri.
I find he has a wonderful repertoire of old kalams that he enjoys singing and bringing back to life.
Some are semi-classical and others are simply folk songs. Shujaat is the son and desciple of the illustrious Ustaad Vilaya Khansaheb who also enjoyed singing during some of his performances.

@ysjabp i am glad you enjoyed it. shujaat khan saheb lives in delhi and travels to perform in the US and canada at least once a year. he has part of several very interesting projects such as the outstanding cd produced with kayhan kalhor.

I heard this beautiful piece of music and Khan Saheb for the first time on radio ABC Australia while driving to work in Melbourne. I couldn't Waite to return from work and listen at 2am . I felt so proud to listen to this great maestro on a foreign Radio.
