  • Very true.

  • shouldn't you be doing accounting!

  • I am a full time student and only work part time. My job is fairly boring but its relaxed and I can chat to people while I do it and listen to music. For some people at least if they think they are helping someone it makes them happy, I wonder if that makes it selfish mm. Understanding the universe and learning makes me happy. Also sex is good lol.

  • Hehe, if sex is happiness, than why do we give depressed people antidepressants that cause sexual dysfunction?

Because the Medical world is FUCKING YOU IN THE ASS AND THEN SELLS YOU A PERSCRIPTION AFTER IT

  • Oh blah blah, this chick needs more friends.

  • thats what were supposed to do is to help one another

  • What you did was admirable. A couple years back I was rear ended by a driver going 60 in a 30, I blacked out and when I came to asking if I was alright, "I think so" I said and they helped me out of the car. When I looked out all I saw was a large sun spot, I thought i was blind, and I fell to the ground where I remained untill the ambulance arrived. If you help someone in an accident keep them in the car or if they insist on getting out lay them on the ground in case of some kind of head trauma

  • Your boring job seems to fit your boring self.

  • Blue eyeshadow, trust me... ;-)

  • I believe there definitely is! Helping can make people much happier because of the connections they make.

  • I saved my money and went to diesel school then went to work as a mechanic. Suddenly I was doing hard work that actually accomplished something. It had meaning and did real good for real people. The pay is good too. For many of my coworkers it's just a job and they don't enjoy it but I actually like it. Those buses are big toys to me sometimes. I've found my place in the world. I've found where I belong. I used to think I was a mistake, not really suited to the world. Boy was I wrong!

  • Not enjoying what I'm doing? That describes my life in the US ARMY to a T. I used to think I was clinically depressed because I really wanted to kill myself. I even carried around a bottle of pills just in case things went from horrible to intolerable. I didn't know what I was back then and I didn't discover it until I was in Saudi Arabia. I discovered that I was a Mechanic. I changed careers and it's funny how happy I am. Every truck or bus I fix is such an obvious accomplishment, and fun too!

  • You remind me of Seligman positive psychology.... the basic premise of positive psychology....getting more pleasure out of life (i.e., "savouring experiences"), Being engaged in what you do, Finding ways to make your life more meaningful

random acts of kindness 5x/week significantly increased LS, esp. if acts done in same day

checkout Seligman's work.....may be make a video about it :)
