If People around the world knew their religious scripture a little more, then they would come to a different conclusion and reality that their religion prohibits something that they do not stay away from. Or the Religion orders something and men of that religion ignores that mandate.

Why is there cherry-picking going on: choosing what you like and rejecting what you like?

In Islam, you have to accept Islam, whole-heartedly. You can never say that I will worship Allah and at the same time I will worship idols.
Nor can you believe in Allah and indulge in the wrong that Islam prohibits.
Islam is a religion given by Allah to mankind, and so mankind should not pick and choose, thinking this is right and that is wrong.
Many atimes, man's own way of thinking deceives them. Who are they to know what is right and what is wrong? How are they to know?

O Hindus, worshipping idols would not do you any good. They neither hear nor see you. They are themselves created by you,, and then you worship your own creation? How does that work?
Many people before you threw away the idols when they realized its inablity to give you spiritual satisfaction. No harm came to them. To the contrary, they became even better than before.
Just read the stories of the Companions of Prophet Muhammad SA.
THey were idol-worshippers, but look what happened after they rejected. No curses came down. Death didn't seize them. Disease didn't afflict them.
Their honor was only increased. Their conduct just became superhuman. Their honesty was unmatched.
It is those who believe Allâh and worship none but Him Alone and confuse not their belief with Zulm wrong , for them (only) there is security and they are the guided.[] (82)
