Easier to counterbalance. Since they weigh less, the shipping is also cheaper.

I knew this area looked familiar. Took me a while to figure out just why though. My dad was a production foreman for BHP petroleum and used to service wells in this area back in the 80's. Brings back a lot of great memories of riding around with him out in the fields. He had a time trying to explain to me, an 8 yr old, what the the dynamometer graphs meant! LOL I remember a bit of how to read one, but not much. Thanks for sharing!

You are correct. It was there before the wind turbines and will be there once they are gone.
