Me, shooting a #40 recurve bow at 20 yards. No target sight, no gloves, no arm guard, no gadgets... just me and the bow. I practiced 2 hours yesterday. Feels good when you group 5 arrows within 1-2 inches range. If that was a deer, dead in hand.
I assume you have questions like; why my hand is way above my chin when I pull the bow. Because I don't use target sight. That is target archery, where you need to pull right below your chin and the string touches your nose. Without sight, you need to use your instincts and the true form is, pulling the string pass you nose and hold it right next to your lip, releasing your hand back to your ear.
Even though it's a #40 bow, there is a lot of torque going on here. That's why the bow moves after each shot. I can use a stabilizer for that but this bow didn't allow accessory attachment.
Hopefully I will post videos of me shooting with a #60 Black Widow and a #70 Hoyt Carbon Matrix compound bow (if I purchase it this season)
@kickme83 The string rolled away from my fingers, and it caused the arrow to displace. It's easy to bring it back to the rest.
The place was packed that day and the guys were dropping arrows, hitting everywhere but the target. The bow I shoot here belongs to the lane, My own bow is quieter because I use ciarpet rest and the rest wall is covered too. I also have beaver balls on the string,
I love recurve. It's a nice challenge and builds good shoulder muscles :)
