@maximebob001 anyone whos machining shit that big probably doesn't give a shit about breaking tools. hell, we make small parts and don't give a shit about a broken tool. lol :-)

@taxalterror dont you just love how people comment when they know nothing about what you are doing.. its quite obvious to me that you were taking a minimal pass just to make it truly concentric.. or the o.d was already close to the number

does the iron oxide coating kill the bit in a pass?
carbide bits are so nice, but we are stuck with 5% cobalt bits :/

I do not know what you are going on about,the tube is coated with (shellac varnish).
The insert (tip)is a sandvic square 25mm x25mm chip break..

You should really put some coolant the sparks and the noise... you must break a lot of tools.
