y so many negative ratings?

Well that would really depend. It does have quite a lot of features, however its not a TRUE smartphone, as mostly it can only do 1 or 2 tasks at the same time
however for the price, it beats almost all of the "regular" phones in features and design. Its definitely worth or exceeds its cost, but don't expect it to beat anything like a blackberry curve or palmpilot etc in compatibility and speed. Its very good for calls, text, mobile IMs etc, with some handy features like music, video and GPS etc

I have 2 oceans that are broken. 1 the screen wont turn on and the other the springs are messed up. I took the parts from both to try to make one good phone but it does not want to turn on. I took it appart and assembled it 3 times already and I still got nothin. Any suggestions?

Im assuming you moved all the internal parts from the ocean with the messed up springs to the shell with the broken screen? are you sure you connected all of the connectors between the boards?

Thats pretty easy. there are primarily 2 types of screws used on the phone. small black ones, and short stubby silver ones. the black ones are FIRST screws you took off, the ones that held the back cover, EXCEPT for the screws i was putting in at 2:30 in Part.1. those 4 screws use the black. for all other internal screws, use the silver ones. there are 2 holes that looks like screw holes but remain empty. there is one long silver screw that one goes under the tape in the battery compartment.

hey is the helio ocean worht getting?

All in all its definitely worth getting if you're looking for typical phone with some extra stuff, similar phones like the Voyager or Sidekick costs more and provides the same features, however if you're looking for a true Smartphone that can run custom programs with an independent OS then this is not the phone for that, the programs the Ocean can run are only the ones provided by helio.
