The words say it all. I was hoping I could connect with Tony Bennett regarding this song but all the influential persons I had known & worked with in the past have crossed the threshold.

Actually, One night, the co-owner of the famous Gold Star Sardine Bar in Chicago, Bill Allen (of the Treasure Island chain) introduced me to Tony explaining that I was a song writer worth taking time to review some of my songs. As Tony was signing autographs he asked me what I had for him. I recited the lyric of a song I had wanted to get to Frank Sinatra called, "I See You've Got a Man". Unfortunately, Sinatra had passed so I figured, what the hell, even though it really was a Sinatra lyric, Tony could do a good job with it. After I got through reciting the lyric Tony said, "That's a good lyric. Send me a demo of it and I'll get back to you." He gave me his address and I mailed off a CD. I never heard back from him.

Because he gave me his Chicago PR gal's phone number, I called her an asked if she knew anything. She revealed that his son fields all contributions & probably didn't pass it on to his Father. I figured, what the hell, it really was for Sinatra. If you're curious, look for the song on youtube. Type in... dondrumm ... just like that. All lower case & no spaces and scroll down until you see: "I See you've Got A Man".

Please, pause the video & read the explanation of why I composed the song before allowing the song to play on. It's a pretty interesting story to say the least. Anyway, THIS song is PERFECT for Tony. Anyone out there happens to know him or know someone who can get this song to him before either one of us passes away? it really would be a damn shame if he never got to hear it, because I just know it's tailored to his voice and style. (LONG SIGH) This is a rough business. Don
