ive had this problem i ended up having to take it apart and shove a match stick to align the gears again

@manen6 Every Single One take the back off first then the side were the hinge is on the screen then unplug the three wries one will look like a ribbon the other two are next to eachother a smaller one then the other there conected to the speackers on the frount on top of the barrel then take the front off looking at the camera right side up there is a bronze colored cylinder on the bottom right , behind it is a little peice of plstic take the two screws out then you will see the gears aline

it might be the memory card because i always have problems with this cam! its great thoe

@JJSuperClips Maybe, but not for me.. It's sand which has got stuck inside the lens barrell which is blocking the lens from retrackting. I never had any problems with the sd slot, some have different problems I guess lol.

ITs the gears dude mine did the same thing easy fix just take it apart then reset the gears it will work

@codygx123 That might do it, I'm just very unsure which screws to unscrew... Is it every single one or just a handful?
