I totally agree. Not just the costumes, the colors, the whole "Mitch Miller" feel, but even the harmonics of the singers is spot-on mid 60s. Not to mention the shit-eating grins on all the guys singing in matching sweaters. LOL. BTW, when this campaign came out X-mas of '99, I couldn't stop laughing. I think these are some of the funniest spots for a product or service in recent years. Thanks for posting!
These commercials are a take-off of The Mitch Miller Sing-A-Long shows that were very popular in the 1950's and 1960's. Miller, by the way, was also Columbia Records' chief A&R executive. He hated rock and roll and did everything in his power to make sure it never came to Columbia.
