A dive on May 4th, 2008. My first dive with a video camera. The Hermes is Bermuda's most popular wreck dive because this US Coast Guard buoy tender is still almost fully intact. Built in Pennsylvania in 1943, the small ship is 165 feet long with a displacement of 825 tons. Sunk intentionally in 1985 by the Bermuda Dive Association.

  • Glad you liked it. I have been doing "surface" video for a long time(weddings, events and such) but this was my first underwater attempt. The other dive I did while there was on the "Mary Celeste" a side wheeler from the civil war. it was awesome also, but I didn't use the camera on that one, as it was my first dive in over a year. I will be interested to hear where you end up going.

  • Great video! Been diving on the Hermes in the past and can't wait to see it again on my honeymoon in 2 weeks! Fantastic quality on the video!

  • FYI - There was a US Coast Guard Cutter of the same name (built in 1932) that served until 1948.

  • Awesome video...we are heading to bermuda in October so it's exciting to see your dives. Let us know which was your favorite..thank you
