Both are great players, but Jordan was greater. Ppl forget sometimes that even when he was with the Wizards he still played really well. The rules are softer now and it woulda been easier for him to finish around the basket in today's game since you cant stand in the lane as long now and there arent as many quality big men as before. He had to finish against guys like Ewing, Hakeem, Shaq, Mourning, Mutombo, Malone, Bird, Mchale, Parrish, Laimbeer playing more physical than today's big men.

@christhehighguy There are six players in NBA history with eight or more rings and three with seven, how would Kobe be the GOAT if he got seven? Rings are a team accomplishment, of course you consider them when you evaluate a player's legacy, but you also have to consider a players importance to a championship team, individual accolades, stats and dominance of their era . Kobe could win ten rings and still not be better than Jordan.

Tex Winter said that MJ is a better team player because of the N.Carolina program and Kobe on the other hand is the better and more pure scorer. You can't compare 2 different eras. MJ's era has handchecking rules, it's hard to get past a defender but if you do it's more easier because there's no 2-3 defense. This era has bigger and taller player and has this 2-3 which Jordan never really played with. Just enjoy watching Kobe. He's the closest player to MJ.

You can't say anything about fouls because the superstar fouls started with jordan jordan is the best but I say its tougher today for kobe because of zone defense its alot easier to score when you have one on one defense

im a huge fan of both i could care less whos better. also i feel people will always say jordon is better because jordan had such an amazing career first and people will never put kobe over jordon and when kobe retires kobe will be in jordons position and lebron will be in kobe bryants position.

In terms of basketball awesomeness, i'd say mj is better. One season, That man average 30.3 points in the era where hacking wasn't a foul, it's obvious mj is better, just look at the impact he has had on the game. Do people realize MJ had over 5 Seasons shooting under 20% and couldnt win a championship in his prime. He played without Pippen for 5 years and Jordan was still amazing but all years his team had a losing record... Stats dont matter as much as people think they do
