These women are great... and with a purpose to give joy and maintain hope and as the video says they are a social and cultural departure from tradition.
They spread peace, hope and beauty....tradition, keeps women down....drumming picks women up!

To LandofDoAsYouPlease: You do not know me, and therefore cannot make such an accusation. I am not a hater. I think these women totally rock, which you would know if you took the time to READ my comment and actually THINK about it. I'm not slighting them. I'm trying to clarify a point about the title "Master" which has been abused in this country and elsewhere. So before you go calling people names, please read what people write first.

With all due respect, just because this is titled a certain way doesn't make it accurate. There is a serious tradition of west african drummers who have earned the title of "Master" and I know for a fact that the women do not have that title. My saying this does NOT mean that i am showing disrespect to these musicians! I've already stated that I think they are great. I am trying to clarify a tradition.

These women may be damned good, and skilled performers, but they are not "Master" drummers. That is a title reserved for an elite few. Too many people are trying to pass themselves off as "Masters" these days. Most are frauds. Please change the title.
