even if income tax is legal, the "tax bracket" system is defenatly illegal! Promising to cut rates for one group (middle class), at the expense at another group (the rich), is using the tax code to buy votes. Whats worse, is that since there are very few voters who are rich, that is "taxation without representation".

So the entire tax code is illegal.

The entire tax system employed by the US is, not only broken, but fundamentally illegal. The law simply was not written in such a way to "legally" empower the IRS to conduct themselves in the manner they do.

Typically, when a family wants to rein in a spendthrift son or daughter, they cut back on their allowance. The American taxpayer should do the same with Washington. But, have we the courage as a citizenry to do so? Probably not.
