Latest episode of "How It's Made" featured a segment on silver mining. The mining company was clearly shown, and was First Majestic Corp. of Canada (their active mines are in Mexico, however). Their refined bullion bars are shown at the beginning, but the segment focuses on the mining and silver extraction process.

  • That gun that detects all the minerals in the wall is amazing.

  • @anthcybo Too bad we couldn't see the rest of the list on the gun. I wanna see "Au" !!

  • There's much involved in doing this.

  • @jimbobubbadj I was stunned when they showed the lab testing. Those chunks of mixed metal, once burned off, only gave a little BB-sized ball of silver !

  • ....and people think paper/plastic fiat has value. lol

  • lol did u guys see the tiny tiny piece of silver that was left after testing a sample of ore. No wonder its precious, yet people dont get it. So much work, nice vid.+

  • Silver looks harder to get to the bar stage than gold. Wow. Maybe silver should be priced higher than gold??

  • 31 bucks an ounce, LOLOLOLOL. Keep stacking.

  • @TheSilverWatch I like Mike Muloney's value of $1500/Oz

  • c&c :D

  • @jnnycliff There is 1.4 mg of silver in about 30 grams of representative sample which gives ca. 47 g of silver in one ton of ore. You can see the assay process better explained in this video /watch?v=7kPWU-knyCk

  • @davincij15 yeah actually about 58 lb of rock will produce 1.4mg. sorry i didn't do the math correctly. thanks for correct me

  • @jnnycliff

Not really a bolder the size of a 5 year old kid has 1 oz of silver. So 1 truck load has 50 to 100 oz of silver.

  • damn. did you catch it? 1K of rock only get around 1.4mg of silver. they have to mine a truck loaded of rock in order to get one oz. for just the fuse for the truck would cost more then the silver.
