  • Thanks! This is by far my (and my wife's) favorite hike. It's harder than any other trail around.

  • Nice Video. I was in Arizona for my first time New Years week this past year and I loved it. I hiked up the superstition mountains but didn't end up at a plataeu like that. We wound up finding this nice stream coming out of the rocks and there was one section where I jumped in the water and it was a few feet deep. There was Indian writing (petroglyphs) all over the rocks. I was looking for Chuckwallas and Gila Monsters but only those little skinks were out to be seen. I love it out there.

  • Hey there... glad you enjoyed Arizona! You were at the Hieroglyphics Trail. I have a video of us at the top of the trail where you were as well on YouTube. Actually that's where I proposed to my wife we love that spot so much! I specifically took my video because we had never seen the stream running that strong from the mountains. Usually it's very dry up there with the "swimming hole" being stagnant and green, but it sounds like it was pretty wet when you were up there, too!

  • Cool. Yeah I tend to hike Camelback a lot more than Flat Iron simply because it's on my way home from work, but if I was closer to Flat Iron I'd do it more often. Thanks for the comment. :)

  • Actually four peaks is the highest point in the valley, but flatiron is pretty high too.

  • I love that hike! 3000 ft plus of elevation gain! We got the best hiking in the city here on the East end! Thanks for sharing!

  • Flatiron is my favorite hiking spot. I camped on the edge of Flatiron in January 09. Now I am hiking other mountains like San Tan, Camelback, Mcdowell,etc...but my favorite is Flatiron.
