Here we see 66745 and 66742 (actually operated by GBRf I believe) top n' tailing an engineers train, running as 6Q10 - Doncaster to Dodworth. The train stops in the station to drop off a member of staff who later boarded the rear 66. I finished the video there due to running out of battery!

The train was running in conjuction with improvement works on the Barnsley-Huddersfield line. Both the Huddersfield line and the line through Wombwell see no freight activity bar RHTT traffic, so I couldn't resist a drive up the road to see this. (ta to Dave for the timings).

  • Whats the significance of Q ? Anyone ?

  • @1teaboy I wasn't sure about that, I knew test trains ran under Q these days but engineers trains? a T, X or Z would've suited it I would've thought?

  • @37372 Q means that it has to stick to its booked route (hence why it's commonly used on recording test trains). There will have been something on it which needed to go via a certain place for whatever reason.

  • Didn't realise that was such a big train now I understand why it ran as a Q
