United Firefighters Union National Secretary, Peter Marshall hits back at the Victorian Chief Fire Officer after the implication was made during the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission that up to 50 firefighters chucked 'sickies' on Black Saturday. This factually incorrect slur denigrated the reputation of firefighters in Victoria and was widely condemned as a low blow by the media and firefighters. Firefighters were angered by the implication, and have called for a vote of no confidence in the Chief.

  • So you call them crocodile tears, but you didn't actually refute any of the facts in the story. Nice way to denegrate a story taht was clearly factually correct. Moron

  • Crocodile Tears if I've ever seen them. Did you ask that particular firey if you could use the death of his mother as an 'example??'

  • Nice to see that nothing has changed since the 2003 high country fires.
