The guys over ant #androidpi IRC channel have finally ported a CM9 version of Android 4.0. It's still work in progress and there are a lot of framebuffer issues but it's a start. Please note, I did not develop any of this, I'm just testing the port and you can download it here and install it to your SD card like any other RPi image: http://www.4shared.com/archive/m_eBBr...
I will be posting more videos showcasing new Android builds for the Raspberry Pi, so be sure to subscribe.

You extract it with Winrar or Winzip or 7zip. Then you will get an .img file that you can install to your SD card using win32diskimager.

It took quite a lot of effort just to get it to this stage.

No, RAM is not an issue. Drivers are the issue.

I wish you luck!
I'm an Android junky.
I have 3 Androids to date and a Raspberry Pi B I played with for about a month then shelved. I would love to have Android on my Pi.
Android is undoubtedly the future of these pocket PC's.
I think the Raspberry Linux-based OS's are nothing but a novelty.
