iPhone 4 External Monitor via iPad VGA Adapter

The iPhone 4 can play videos and presentations on an external monitor or projector using the VGA Adapter for the iPad ($29). The adapter has gotten lots of bad reviews because people expect it to work like a second monitor on a laptop, allowing them to mirror their iPad/iPhone onto the second monitor. While it doesn't do mirroring (probably because it would wear out the battery), it is useful for demos and presentations.

First off, you CAN mirror you display out, all it takes is a simple jailbreak app.

As if this is new for the iPhone 4?

My old iPhone 2G could do this.

Doe it show only videos? Can it show everything on the screen. For example i have picture gallery and i want to display that or i have presentation slides?
