  • Ah, that explains why it was eerily similar to the House episode. Good food for thought though. People don't like questions like this, but it truly does reveal a lot about their mind's inner workings when they answer truthfully and explain why they believe that choice is the best one.

  • My position on this is much the same as yours, I have been away for a while but I will post my round-up for this question soon.

That house episode was the inspiration for this question :-D

  • I don't believe that though and I see this life as the only one we get. And if I can guarantee the survival of one person I would not risk it. People die every day and there isn't any sense in risking the life of two in such a risky decision. It's smarter to treat them differently and spend those last few precious precious moments with them both before the end. I have to admit that this is a very sad topic and I would never want to make that decision, but that's the character of life.

  • They will think that giving different treatments is cruel and they think it would be better to lose both rather than sentence one to die. What can fuel a decision like that is the thought that even if they both die there will be a time after death that all the family will be together again and those two children do not have to go out into the unknown of death alone.

  • I remember seeing a House episode like this. Logically the better choice is to give them different treatments. You are guaranteeing that you will still have a child at the end of this. Yes the loss of the other child is tragic and horrible, but you still have the other child and there aren't words to describe how great that is. However most people are not logical especially when it comes to a decision like this.
