It was in between fences on some of the lines, but the horse's lead only matters on the corners. If you're jumping a line, the lead in between the jumps doesn't matter.

actually it does...if ur on the wrong lead then it can lead to bad jumps and a lower mark from the judges.

I understand what you're saying, and essentially, yes, it can throw the horse off balance since that is how horses balance themselves, and you can get bad marks as a result of an affect from having an unbalanced line, but simply being on the wrong lead on a straight line in between fences alone doesn't count against you as long as the line is smooth.

Thank you :) He's, believe it or not, a paint/mustang cross, and is registered with the Pinto Horse Association of America. It's hard to see, but he is a grey and white pinto; a real combination of his parents. His dad was chestnut and white paint with almost identical markings, and his mom was a very light, solid grey mustang.
