This is a fine, highly competent performance of Alborado. What I miss is a lighter touch, humor, and the sense of joy provided by sparkling wine in a romantic setting on a sunny summer afternoon.
Pianists today play very well, but few are in touch with their imagination. One must have a clear picture in one's head -- a full SCENARIO even -- to enchant audiences with the unique marvels of great composers.

Alborada del Gracioso is a very technically challenging piece. i appreciate the effort you put into this performance, trust me i know it was a lot! I wasn't blown away by the interpretation especially in the slower simpler parts nor the more difficult glissandos. It seems as if there's always a heavy pedal. I did enjoy the character of a "jest" well portrayed in this performance. Overall, good performance, especially in a competition- these performances seem to be more nerve-racking!
