@beamprimary I agree it's a little odd in that way, but it is the law. Flat out if you're not under suspicion of breaking the law or they don't have probable cause then you don't have to show ID.As weird as it seems it really is exactly the same as if a cop were to see you walking at 3am down the street and asked for your ID just because it was an odd hour. In reality i think they should be able to ID you if you're walking down the street with a gun out, but they cant.

@beamprimary There is not many people who prepare for a situation to happen more than I. I shoot IDPA and USPSA and practice at the range, no less then 3-4 times a week. I carry a defensive pistol LOADED every day. I have a licence to do so and no obligation to inform the police on contact. BAAA little sheep.

@hapelliotte Just as there is a difference between teachers and educators; there is a difference between peace keepers and law enforcers. We as a society, have allowed this transition to take place. The successful functioning of any govt. operation is done through checks & balances. We have drifted from that practice long ago. Their job is to protect the rights of the individual, not knock the snot out of someone for failure to blindly obey, and totally comply immediately.

@ohannahdad agreed. the cops I have dealt with are very unhelpful and anti self defense. also I'm sure they lie all the time about "getting a complaint" or "you match the description" etc.

basically many cops are bullies who abuse their powers when ever they can
