Very interesting, why quattro is not mentioned?

Great video. So shocking that Toyota and Honda advertise all-wheel drive, but failed in this "lab" setting. Could you create another video with the Audi and BMW xi systems?

2010 Forester, current owner of a 99 Jeep Wrangler 4.0.2005 Subaru Forester X Auto, should have kept it
Traded for a 2006 VW Passat 3.6 4motion, traded that for 2008 Audi A4 Quattro.
The Audi was the best snow overall, esp in climbing my steep hill, the VW did well, overall safer due to stability/trac control and more power (265HP)The Forester X was great with lots of ground clearance but suffered from rear drums and no stability or braking assist, Subie corrected those with the new model.

I can concur - the '10 A4 - even on all season tires makes it up steep grades. Turn off the ESP and it's fun too. How did the Wrangler do on the hills? Most people falsely think an SUV gives them better on road traction in control in the snow - but that is false. They have a higher center of gravity and more weight (harder to turn-brake-maintain momentum going uphill) than a car with a good all-wheel drive (led by Audi and Subaru). Off-road is a diff story - but most ppl never go there...

audi would have made it up the ramp no problem, that's just how the torsen works.

on snow/ice, if i pull the handbrake in the audi, the engine will stall. the centre just locks up solid.

subarus lsd centres are so/so, with the exception of the STI's DCCD diff, which is insanely awesome, and durable too. better than quattro, more sophisticated.
