Ofcoarse subi will win, look who uplaoded and probubly made the video.

These guys clearly know nothing about cars. The VW diff, (torsen) cannot be used to its fullest ability when idiots are driving. Turn off all driver aids, thats the first thing. Next a dab of brakes may be needed and the torsen will kick in.

The Toyota has locking diffs, so it can make it for sure, even the worst drivers could get the Toyota up.

Using brakes a 2wd open diff could get up.
This video is very biased.

It usely depend where u live an car weight ratio. FR is good for daily just like FF. When it comes to wet rainniny day, u needa reduce ur driving ablility % unless u like to lose control with traffic. Most car now n theses days comes with tractic control witch realy helps on snow. Regardless of it it also depend on the tires ur using. Same gose with HP, whats the point of having 300 HP if u cant use it daily...

ok im sorry but the highlander has a manual lock for the center and rear diff. that technically would have passed all the test with no problem.

Agreed. but manual locks are for low speed when you know the surface is really bad.

I think the stipulation subaru always had was that their AWD can be on all the time and perform just as well, such as during emergencies, like black ice where you can't automatically turn on the lock.

what year highlander?
rear diff lock is an optional thing for 4runner, fj cruiser.
I don't think highlander has rear diff lock, not sure about center.
