Check out these unbiased experiments.
Subaru AWD against other popular makes in slippery road simulations.

In response to video comments: This is not a rigged setup. There are no chains holding back the competitors cars. This was also shown live to an audience for training purposes. Sorry to bust everyones doubts.

  • drive a jeep up that thing, enjoy the flight through the wall!

  • Experiment is good. But u should have shown all the 4 wheels at the same time. We cannot see what trap is put in front of the back wheels of all other cars which do not climb. After all u r a subaru dealer.

  • @s8rider the headgasket problem was before 2003 subarus I think....

  • This test/challenge would impressed me if camera show all 4 wheels on the all car.s/SUV.and have different drivers and different angles of the camera....Conspiracy?..Hmmmm and again this is advertisement for Subaru. Maybe some 1 gave a Subaru a push to make like it can climb.

  • @Wonsdloc Yep, same here.

  • @rizlica97 jes jes veri najs kar .

  • veri najs

  • @Renaud596 thanks but i think they are expensive.. i might get the subaru forester instead just the base model 2.5X matic :) there are reviews that forester have problem with head gaskets i hope that its already fixed with their 2012 model :)

so excited that i already bought a garmin gps LOL!

  • @s8rider I hear that some of the best AWD systems are the old BMW, Audi, and Acura systems. I've heard that the late mitsubishi AWD before the evo10 was kind of crappy and has loads of torque steer. Good luck!

  • @alabaska182 Well I could do this on my old audi from the 80's, but this still isn't really 4wheel drive still. Your computer will still decide which wheels to send power to to maintain traction in most situations. I'm not well versed in Subaru's newer designs, but almost all of their all-wheel drive systems in the past have had a viscous coupling in the center differential to transfer the power. Audi has a secondary gearbox that can transfer most of the power to any combination of the wheels

  • @Renaud596 Well, yes and no... I have a subaru sti, you can lock the diff so it gets equal power to the front and rear making it 4wd... Or you can de-select this and fully adjust how much power you want in the front/rear, this is called a DCCD menu, but it's only available on the STI :)

  • @Renaud596 sorry bout that, im just disappointed to see that the crv failed this test.. planning on getting the 2012 crv AWD... i guess il look around first...
