You seem to be confused....
Sometimes we give our dogs left overs because he is a DOG. The keyword is DOG. People generally don't give their kids left overs because kids are HUMANS.........any qualified Vet would tell you not to treat your dog as a human because they're NOT humans.....you would be doing more harm than good if you treated them as if they were little humans.

@peerycb : Our mini doxie's LOVE watermelon, too! They love bananas, kiwis, Cutie mandarin oranges..the only things the vet said that we are to NOT give them are grapes and cherries.

I can't believe there's even one hater out there. Too bad. Who can hate that cute little munching sound ? My dachshund gets babied too, and who knew they liked watermelon? Mine likes Doritos, Taco Bell tacos (the whole thing), and various nuts. What counts is he is loved, taken care of very well, and is happy. If a dog is happy, I'm happy. Your dog looks happy!

@suistar Oh, yeah. Here's the deal: I get a meal w/3 taco supremes w/a drink. However, I get full after the 2 tacos, and maybe a bite or two off the third. So I put the rest on the carpet in the paper, and he eats it ALL, shell and all. He loves the meat and cheese and even most of the shell. All he leaves is the lettuce (don't ask me how). His diet is Blue Buffalo (Salmon), extra meat, treats, and rarely Taco Bell. I hate watermelon, but the sound of Nacho Cheese Doritos makes as much joy.
