well ,well,well,women ski jumpers will compete in the next olympics,no shit.i boycotted the mens final hockey game with sid the kid in support of the women ski jumpers.after each jump i want to see the beauty of the women ski jumpers.i would like to have babys with them.why mike scott canada?its simple they have balls of steel.mike scott canada 1955 and again 2011.

Don't think letting women compete with men would do the "marketing trick?"
Those of us who are old enough can remember how interest in women's tennis was all be "dead." Then came along Billy Jean King who callenged Bobby Riggs. After that historic match, women's tennis was back on the map and caught up to the men's interest within a few years.

Clearly, the IOC are horrible at marketing skills. I've been researching the web and found articles on how the FIS and IOC are concerned about ski jumping fading from popularity compared to other winter sports. One article implied how many in the IOC wouldn't mind seeing ski jumping disappear, but feel like they should keep "only because" of its Olympic roots.
Well, here's an idea - you want more audience and more interest - let the women compete with the men....now that's marketing!

Why don't they make it universal and have both the men and women compete together ? It doesn't appear to be a strength event.
