Our new cockatiel named Pitt (got him 4 days ago) has been doing this since he came home with us. He does this ALL day, morning till night when it gets dark and we cover his cage. The sounds he makes are extremely loud and piercing, they remind me of a broken violin or scratching on chalkboard. Explanation/help/course of action would be great.

  • does your bird still do that? i just got mine couple days ago and has been doing the same thing, hopefully ill start hearing nice happy chirps

  • @hirourano He doesn't do it randomly anymore, he now only does it in the mornings when it gets light, when he's been alone too long and when he's eating by himself. Mostly for attention, lol.

  • he really wants to get out. please trim his wings and let him out. and also more toys.....come on people! do your research before you bought a bird!

  • @cindy600 I did my research already. We let him out and we couldn't get him back in because he's still scared of our hand, and I don't think I should buy more toys yet since he doesn't even play with the one he has.

  • @cindy600 how is he supposed to trim the birds's wings if it's too afraid of his hands? just grab the bird and give it a heart attack??
