Trying various settings on the Canon HV40 so I can figure out what all the settings do. You have to chose between a lot of noise or post coloring. I will be getting better lights, lenses, and tapes. I will be shooting outside more and doing weddings and stuff not just noodling around but was curious if I could get some half way decent shots of playing guitar also. Waiting for my memory card so I can do the exposure lock trick. It's actually quite useful to shoot crappy indoor videos right now so I can learn to work in low light. I can see potential in some shots but so new to this camera I can't even remember what I did lol. I just got this and my X-Grip (a lot of shots were first day tests out of the box). Getting some decent wide angle and fisheye lenses so should have some cool ideas figured out after I get those, and more experience with the camera. I played around in Edius 5 with color correction and white balance, as I usually do with HVX200 footage. Since I tried a lot of different presets, and it's bad lighting, I don't know what's going to work yet but thought I should learn to work with every possible scenario. Can't get much worse than shooting in the basement and upstairs was only at night. Also need an external monitor eventually, was hard to see what kind of noise I was getting in the little window in Edius. Got so much into video stuff right now, always something more I need lol. Gotta hits da eBay selling harder.
Great tone & playing........\m/ Peace! X-Mann
