It seems that everybody has an iPod nowadays and the ProTrack from Alesis allows you to easily record direct to your iPod anywhere. Just dock your iPod into the ProTrack, cover it with the protective clear shield, and you're ready to record.
The ProTrack's onboard pair of cardioid condenser mics (fixed in XY configuration for optimal stereo imaging) allows you to record impressive, 44.1kHz, 16-bit digital audio without connecting any additional cables or equipment. It is also possible to connect other audio sources to the ProTrack via two combination XLR-1/4" jack inputs which also supply 48v phantom power for condenser microphones. A built in LED meter offers a visual indication of audio levels and you can monitor or play back recordings via a 3.5mm stereo-headphone output with adjustable volume control.
Alesis' ProTrack is a convenient way to capture jam sessions, gigs, speeches, interviews, meetings and lectures. It automatically date and time stamps your recordings to keep them organised and an onboard limiter ensures distortion free recordings. The Pro Track can be powered via 4x AAA batteries or the included AC power supply and an a 1/4" threaded mounting point allows you to mount the device when using the optional mounting adaptor.
ProTrack is compatible with iPod Classic 7th and 6th generation, 5th-generation iPod, 3rd and 2nd-generation iPod nano, 2nd-generation iPod Touch, and iPod nano-chromatic. Mounting sleds are not included for nano-chromatic and nano 2G.
