  • crap rig

  • dude look at the date this was posted may2008.

Fuck i have a new video, which is my actual rig.

  • GUYS If your watching this then this sint my PC now, this is what oi was planning on getting, please check out the video responce from me that is my new rig.

  • by the way, intel does kick AMD's ass but not by much, and ONLY in their newest dual and quad cores. The difference isn't much, but my friend's comp with a Q6600 (intel quad at 2.4Ghz) beats the hell outta my quad :(

Oh well, a quad is a quad, and I just remind myself that I have 2 of my old CPUs in one package now. When games start using quad fully, you won't need that extra difference ;P

  • what you have to wokr out is price vs performance.

ATM my AMD phenom II 955 beats the core 2 q9775 extreme about 90% of the time.

And in some place beats the i7 920.

Ok so we have performance worked out, pretty good almost at i7 standard.

Next we look at price. (newegg prices)

Ok the AMD Phenom II is - $199.99

    Core i7 920 - $279.99

    Core 2 Extreme qx9775 $1549.99

Hmm, major price differnce there, almost 100 for the i7 and over 1300 for the core 2.

    Point proven

  • hey my cpu comes stock at 3.2 ghz.

ur think of the 940 which is still am2+ socket.

i got the 955 be which is am3 socket and 3.2 ghz

check out new video as well rate and comment plox

  • In my opinion the best part of that rig was the keyboard

  • @paultje162 ageed it is petty crapy

  • I never said intel costs less :P

amd wins all the time for price vs performance, but if you're rich as fuck, intel wins. that being said, I bought an AMD as well because I'm not rich as fuck xD (Plus, the intels are nowhere near worth it.)

The Phenom II 3.0Ghz doesn't beat the intel cpus, it's just on par with the intel quads at 2.8-3.0Ghz and usually the intels win anyway (AT GAMES. Programs are a different story.)

The tiny difference it makes is DEFINITELY NOT worth the extra price, I agree.

  • your rig is similar to mine. I bought my AMD quad core 9750 2.4Ghz for a measely $200 AUS on Ebay xD (about $160 US)

Also I got a 9800GTX+ (yes, plus xD) for only $250 AUS (about $200 US)

    4GB Corsair 800Mhz ram, $78 AUS ($60-65 US)

awesome motherboard I got for ultra cheap, only $109 AUS (about $95 US)

Case I got for free from another computer, with DVD drives, card reader, etc... Worth $99 in shops even today ($80 US)

All this I bought for $690 AUS ($500 US) over a year ago ^_^
