Certainly not from 1952 although that might have been the show's 1st year on T.V. (?) I would also guess somewhere around 1962 although it could have been a bit earlier.

Not from 1952 - more like 1962. David and Ricky are grown up.

This was back when America was at it's best! No tv ratings were needed, no voilence, no sex, no dirty jokes, no having to worry about what your kids were watching - just your nice, average American family! I would give just about anytihng for me to have been around in those days!

Ricky Nelson really is a travelin' man.

This is not the original theme!

I have been deeply saddened to learn the news of the passing of David Nelson, just after the 25th anniversary of his brother's tragic plane crash. Now they are all gone from the earth, but we can still enjoy their tremendous legacy via the television series they left to us.

ah, the days before violent Tea Party fascist thugs and their violent imagery...

RIP David Nelson
I just bought a couple of "Ozzie and Harriet Show" DVDs at the local Goodwill for a buck a piece. 4 show per disk and it looks like it was just transfered from film. Pretty corny stuff, but I really love the simple humor. Ozzie always seems the butt of the jokes and takes it all in stride. That goof "Wally" gets the horse laugh quite abit, also. A wonderful show for those of us who remember simpler times. No crude language, sexual humor or fart jokes, just for the sake of laughs.

This show is a prime example of the America I grew up in. People said "good morning" and meant it,you did not need an interpreter to order you food, kids did not have gun's or gangs in school, you did not find balled up baby diapers in the streets, walls filled with foreign graffity, and you did not need to press 1 for english. What changed? The answer. We allowed hoards of people to sneak into the country unchecked to milk our system dry. Say goodby to the good old days.
