More Steve Lawson music at http://music.stevelawson.net
This track has been released twice. Here are both versions:
http://music.stevelawson.net/track/mmfsog
http://stevelawsonandlobelia.bandcamp.com/track/mmfsog
This is filmed at a house concert, everything in it is live, there's no prerecorded stuff, it's all looped, layered and processed using a 6 string fretless bass, lexicon processor and a Looperlative LP1 - for more info see http://www.stevelawson.net and for more on the looper see http://www.looperlative.com
The little thing with the blue light on it half way though is an Ebow - http://www.ebow.com - it's just a magnetic thingie that gives you infinite sustain. It's not any kind of 'synth' or midi thing.
"Steve Lawson is a brilliant musician. I've known about him and listened to him for many years. He may not be one of the most famous bassists but he is definitely one of the most talented." - Victor Wooten

Try the Boss RC-20 loop station, not cheap new but I got mine for £80 ($160) off my teacher. As for the harmonising stuff I don't know, you'd have to research the gear.

I also saw Steve supporting Level 42 at the North Wales Threate. Really talented, nice, down to earth guy. Are there inexpensive ways to get the right equipment?
