This is an outdoor test of the Samsung CL65 and the Vado HD, 720p @ 30fps "HD" video recording features..
Below the Samsung is focused in Macro mode (that is why the background is blurry), the Vado's focus is fixed.
Vado tends to saturate colors more than the average camera which makes them more lively and vivid, but in some cases a bit too amped. Overall, that is better than some other pocket camcorder's washed out colors, but it would also be nice to be able to adjust them.
The biggest difference in color between these two is the green tone that looks (imo) better in the Vado's footage, but the Samsung has an adjustable RGB feature - which i did not test here.
Check my other video for a comparison in high-contrast light, and Samsung's color settings, along with more details about the two cameras.
i like the vado too, over the Sony Webbie (both models), the Mino HD or the Samsung U10 .. but how does it compare with Kodak's Zi8 at 60fps or 1080p?
As a brand, i don't like Kodak, but they might have something here.
I don't own a Zi8 because It feels bulky to me and don't have much use for 1080p video (and -yet- larger files to deal with). I have tested 1080p video from pocket cameras and it captures all the "shakyness" making it hard to watch full screen, maybe with a tripod but still.
