If we want to experience life to the fullest, we first have to discover who we are. In this excerpt from the book, Internal Power Seven Doorways to Self Discovery by Harold W. Becker, he shares that we need to discern what is important to us in life personally. We must decide which of our thoughts are reflections of our true inner selves, and which thoughts and perspectives are layers of personality that we use to hide behind. Distinguishing between our limiting thoughts and the unlimited potential that resides within allows us to embrace our Internal Power. For more please go to www.thelovefoundation.com

He continues We can better understand who we really are if we are willing to look at our inner selves objectively. Then we can set aside the limiting beliefs and perspectives we may have accepted from others. We can shed the masks, the layers of personality, and the illusionary roles we have been playing for others and embrace our true inner selves. We can choose to see our world and reality any way we want. We no longer need to be something for others. We need to be something for ourselves we need to be us.

It all comes down to a matter of our consciousness. If we wish to be actively involved in our lives in every respect, we need to consciously choose our thoughts and perspectives. Otherwise, we will passively continue to live life from one random thought to the next, like a roller-coaster ride with no end. We need to make the commitment to realize our conscious thought processes. We are the only ones who can make such commitments and be capable of carrying them out. It is our responsibility. It is our choice.

Our roller-coaster ride has frequently been a problematic and unhappy journey, and we have had no apparent control over our destiny. We have created our lives by allowing our unconscious thought processes to run our lives. We have been literally hanging on for dear life to the point of becoming merely a part of the mechanized ride itself. We can change all that right now. We can transform our self-created roller coaster ride into a fantastic journey in which we are in control of the new vehicle, as well as the direction our path takes. In this now moment, we can choose a new beginning.

We can take control of our lives and, therefore, our destinies by becoming our unique unlimited selves. We can release our judgment, fear, anger, guilt, hurt, and pain, and allow ourselves to experience the love, wisdom, peace, compassion, and understanding that Internal Power provides. We will have the lives we seek when we love ourselves unconditionally and are willing to settle for nothing less.

By choosing our thoughts, living in the moment, and finding out about ourselves and our potential as described in the Seven Doorways, we can become the unlimited people we truly are. We can heal ourselves by facing our fears and understanding our power to overcome them. We can share our thoughts by communicating effectively to our world. We can choose to learn from everything and from every situation, and accept the very best life has to offer. We can become the creative people we really are. We have the power within to gather the resources we need and put these resources to work for us. Our childlike spirits can guide us to become spontaneous and excited in the now moment. Finally, and most important, we can love ourselves unconditionally.
