@sindle36 Article 1 Section 8 gives congress the Authority, not the Responsibility, to provide a social safety net. Now maybe you support social darwinism and think it should be every man for himself or charity, but SSI is there because we're biological organisms, we break down, we suffer injury, and any one of us could need it. SSI exists for all of us, and if you support any taxation why oppose SSI with such arguments? Isn't there a double standard?

SSI falls under Article 1 Section 8 in providing for the general safety and welfare of the American public, it's well within the role of the Federal Government.

And mind you, after you get off this computer today, you could have a stroke or get food poisoning or be in an accident that renders you permanently disabled. How will you support yourself if that happens? Will your insurance even cover you?

@daddio4u2 It was Social Security mentioned in the video, not Medicaid. Social Security is a cash benefit paid to the elderly. Medicare is health insurance for the elderly. Medicaid is a health insurance program for those under retirement age. The person who uploaded the video mentioned at no time in the video that she would be opposed to taking care of her parents in their golden years.

@RW00632 All social safety nets could and should be funded with surplus but it all goes back to sound money. I'm not against SS and I dont think any of this is funny. I have paid into the system for over 35 years and I wont see a dime of it. So what is the answer? Keep doing what we have been doing and expect a different out come?

@RW00632 I was in referrence to why the US is in the financial trouble it is in. But what do I know. I just live day to day within this illusion. So since we have been living outside the constitution for the last 100 years or better, why not, for shits and giggles give it a shot and see what happens.

Sound Money is the issue. America has to come first. For America to come first it must follow it's Constitution. It is all about money. And who prints the money? From thin air backed by what?

@grubelsucht You do realize the recent unstable market is almost completely caused by the deficit spending and the feds attempt to stabilize the dollar which leads to this boom and bust economy right? Look at our debt projections for just 5 years from now, I'm not worried about SS going bankrupt, Im worried about our entire country going bankrupt and people who just want to keep the status quo going and don't want to rock the boat are the ones leading us down this path on both sides of the isle.
