9,000 people gathered at Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to pay tribute to the veterans on November 11, 2009. This is the largest indoor Remembrance Day gathering in Canada. We watched the bagpipers lead the procession past the cenotaph. The trumpeter played the Last Post during our two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. We all sang God Save the Queen. Two elderly World War II veterans took the salutes of those marching past at the close of the ceremony.
