I live in the UK and I cannot believe how scared Americans are of helping each other. You can invade countries in the name of democracy but you dump sick people on the streets. If Michael Moore is Anerica's conscience then more please. I take for granted our health care and call it everything under the sun when I have to wait 20 minutes to see a GP but the idea to pay him first is insane. I have private medical too and their are benefits but my first port of call if ill is the NHS.

It's just been proved by sloppy by name and sloppy by nature. You obviously sure ain't got the sense to open your mind and actually think. America the Christian values of screw your fellow man.. It beggars belief..

I believe in Capitalism. I believe the only reason we need a government is to enforce the rules of our empire and to extend the suffering of all that are not American. Profits are everything! People are just sources of profit - and if they cease to be profitable, then of course deny them care and coverage. It's the American way. If you have cancer and can't afford it - then just die! Every man for himself - thats the way - thats what made this country great.

@johnny..., The whole point of any welfare system to the well off help the needy. A basic Christian ethos. Yet for a Christian country it seems this is not a requirement. I recently had to have a genetic test. The NHS sorted it. I went to my doctor who referred me to a hospital were I was treated brilliantly. Today my private healthcare has notified me that now any treatment that is required WILL need to be dealt with by the NHS if they can provide treatment within 6 weeks. They citied this pol

Sometimes I get the feeling that American History stops in the founding days in the brains of many. And that old values a re stuck to like a livesaver even though the world has gone some steps further. and It makes me wonder why? and why so much hate? and why is so much ignorence is possible.
I think many of michael moores movies are to polemic. But this one I thought was really good.

@morgue666666 ",then who the fuck is paying the altimate price?" Um...fundamentally, the people of america will be paying the ultimate price, via premiums and taxes. In return, they will receive healthcare (among other things)

If your information comes from the "news" you are a brainwashed fool.
There is no such thing as a "FREE" healthcare system someone has to pay for it, NOTHING is free.
Taxpayers have to pay for it (you probably dont pay taxes).
The quality is low and the services are limited for of course the cost is less than ours.
Why did Castro get a doctor from Spain for one his recent surgeries?
DO SOME OBJECTIVE RESEARCH YOUNG FOOL!

I really don't think shouting at me is going to help.
Yes, I agree that "free" healthcare is actually paid for by taxpayers. But it's still a good idea.
As for objective research, I invite you to look at the World Health Organization statistics, and see how Canada (and France, and Britain) compare to the U.S. in terms of quality healthcare.

@sonicsuns: So you get your perspective from "stories"??? That explains everything.
Your system may be better in some ways for instance minor needs and non-emergencies, statistics show our care is far superior in quality when it comes to serious issues and major treatments.
BOTH systems need reform but having some bureaucrat in Washington (and their special interest group friends) run the system is NOT reform!

@espada9 "stories"? What are you talking about? I cited the statistics from the World Health Organization. If you have statistics to prove that the U.S. is better than other countries in some way, show me the statistics.
I understand the dangers of special interests and bureaucrats having too much discretionary power. But note that those types of people are already running the health care system; they work for the corporations.
