I found too many versions of this song with a botched ending, so I synched it myself. To verify, go to 9:14 to see that the transition to the heavy part matches up perfectly on both the layered tracks (other youtube videos contain a noticeable gap where one of the tracks lags, at or after 9:14).

This song is an easter egg combining 3 songs from Tool's album 10,000 Days: Wings for Marie (Pt. 1). 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2), and Viginti Tres. The lengths of Wings for Marie and Viginti Tres add up to the length of 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2). There is also a transition to a heavy part at 9:14, at which time both Wings for Marie (Pt. 1) and 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) are playing. The minute and second numbers, 9+14, add up to 23, apparently the Latin number for synchronicity. "Viginti Tres" also happens to be Latin for 23. The song is a tribute to frontman Maynard James Keenan's mother Judith Marie, who died 27 years (approximately 10,000 days) after suffering a stroke.

Mixed with Goldwave. Took an entire week in August 2010 to get the timing down.

Send me a message if you want to download the song and we'll figure out a way to get it to you.

  • I wanno know how the hell this was even discovered,

  • Wow some one who claims to have done it himself and isn't lying hehe. On the other hand you still made it too quiet... and changing the tempo = fail ... it is sooo audible..

  • dude this was the best version of the synced song... thank you

  • The scary thing which I refused to believe for a long time is, they plan that stuff. I am a musician myself, and there is nothing else than admiration and reverence for this four beyond talented guys.

  • @cunliffe5108 A less clusterfuck-y version of The Great in the Small.

  • @cunliffe5108 Silly person, the world doesn't explode, it IMPLODES.

James would of wanted it like that.

  • I was skeptical. Now I am not.
