  • I really can't figure out why people seem to hate Magpies so much, there are many other birds we love and admire and yet they also attack our other bird populations,,eg. the great Spotted Woodpecker,l find them very comical to watch, very intelligent and they are just scraping a living like all the others.

  • I totally agree!

  • @suegreenbar Believe me if you saw the devistation magpies, crows inflict on other breeding birds in the nesting season you would know why people detest them so much...I have seen them empty many song birds nests of their young and eggs and it is not apretty sight.Domestic cats do the same except they tend to do it for pleasure though people say it is nature/instinct.This is true but our songbird population is in decline as it is without corvids and cats making it worse!

  • @JODIMAR45 - corvids are a natural part of our country and blaming them for songbird declines caused by people isn't going to solve anything. A healthy habitat, like that of the North Downs, can support both native predators and prey, and that is what we should concentrate our efforts on (e.g. support wildlife-friendly farming methods). Cats are a non-native predator and a different matter entirely. Keep them indoors!!

  • Sittingfox, thanks for the video and of course for the help you give to those foxs.

Have to say that I really love magpies and that I feel lucky to have lots of them here in Barcelona.

    Cheers.

  • Hi, thanks for your comment and kind words! Happy magpie watching :-)

  • Gotto have guts and the reflexes of a gnat on crack to be toying with a fox like that. I'm always shocked pies can still fly carting around king kong sized balls.

  • one for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told.....This is the rhyme you're supposed to say if you see more than one magpie at the same time, to ward off bad luck.

  • Doesn't look like the Maggies in Australia.

  • They are also aggressive to their own reflections!! See one attacking a car wing mirror by clicking my name! :-)

  • fox doesnt understand wtf is going on lol

  • @suegreenbar my friend when u see magpies kiiling litle robins and black birds !!! every 2 days u would understand, and magpies eat 40% of my dad crop thats ............ Not good u know! well when i see pests that need to be removed from my garden or farm yes i will shoot em.

  • Must be so annoying for that fox. Should of gotten a gun and shot those cunts for him.

  • The Magpie keeps playing with fox's tail because she she knows that is not the business end of the the fox

  • All foxes should be shot. They are vermin, just like the people that support them.

  • fOX SAYS "ow quit it. Ow quit it. OW Quit IT!"

  • @Sittingfox I agree with most of your reply to my comment on corvids and yes people do play a big part on songbird decline with farming practises though many farmers now do try to farm with song/ground nesting birds in mind but beliove my magpies, carrion crows etc do decimate our bird population which is very fragile in some areas more than others. Also birds of prey too play there part on ground nesting bird decline especially plovers, curlew, waders etc.
