800 by 600? The Optoma Pico pocket projector is almost that good, it makes no noise, it fits in your pocket, it has a 20,000 hours bulb life, and it costs a third what this does. But if you want a full time unit, don't get a pocket projector
i have this and its sweet. i play halo 3 and cod 4 on it with a 72 inch pulldown screen. It's also running on vga/component on high res. it costed me only 535 dollars plus rebate which took off 100 bucks.
Just use regular red and white cords included with your DVD player or video game console. It's not complicated at all. Yes, I have surround sound hooked up with it.

Run the signals to you A/V receiver/amplifier, then the video out to the projector.
