Mongols T-Shirt: http://dftba.com/product/10g/CrashCou...
In which John Green teaches you, at long last, about the most exceptional bunch of empire-building nomads in the history of the world, the Mongols! How did the Mongols go from being a relatively small band of herders who occasionally engaged in some light hunting-gathering to being one of the most formidable fighting forces in the world? It turns out Genghis Khan was a pretty big part of it, but you probably already knew that. The more interesting questions might be, what kind of rulers were they, and what effect did their empire have on the world we know today? Find out, as John FINALLY teaches you about the Mongols.

No, the mongols came from afghanistan through khyber. The issue was that they died from heat and decided it wasn't worth it. (india was a bonus achievement) Timur and Babur were mongols (in lineage, not name) that would take over india much later.

So,
If the Mongols were to be a modern military forces,
could anyone guess the days the Planet Earth would survive?

Oh they were probably able to... Westerners were praying
They were planning to invade Italy,Austria, and Germany in the winter of 1241-42,the Mongol army was on the march when news came from the Mongol capital, Karakorom, of the death of Ogatai, son and successor of Genghis Khan. The law of Genghis Khan clearly stated
"after the death of the ruler all offspring of the house of Genghis Khan, wherever they might be,must return to Mongolia to take part in the election of the new Khakhan."
