Part 1 of 50. To start off this character modeling series we create the image planes to be used for reference when modeling. Software used is Maya 2009 and Photoshop CS4.

  • a ten minute video took me 7 hours lolz. Its very good tut but for a learner I have to stop the video on every single action and figure out how to do it. 2012 also has some things different.

  • @banshi68 haha that's all good, the more you use Maya the quicker you'll become. It's a good idea to learn the interface and the main editors before trying to model a complex object though!

  • @beepboopbopers I clicked and dragged it. Also hold down shift to constrain its movement horizontally.

  • This is so frustrating, I'll just do 2D Animation/games...

  • I use max and have used maya a little (learning more at School) and when i saw how long and detailed your series is i got really excited I subbed immediately. thanks for takeing the time to make these videos.
