SoCal Storm Chaser Nick Mitchell set up in Lake Elsinore, CA. today. This chase was in home territory. A strong supercell formed over the Elsinore Convergence Zone and produced a funnel cloud around 3:15pm PST.

  • @Pyrotech56 i think that means its starting to rotate faster

  • Could you elaborate on inflow and outflow bands/clouds please? Though I'm an engineer, I am a meteorological layman.

  • it is not common for a supercell thunderstorm to develop in California. on January 20, 2010, my weather radio went off for a severe thunderstorm warning for Santa Maria, California that had the ability to produce a weak tornado. there were storm spotters nearby that reported the severe thunderstorm. it did produce a weak tornado and no damage was reported.

  • OMG there was a Tornado in Lake Elsinore!!!! Why I'm commenting on this video is because I use to live in Lake Elsinore!!!! And back in 2000 I made a prediction about all this just from curiosity after watching "Twister" and now I'm speachless!!!!

  • Yes I believe so. I am actually looking to buy a safe room. Living in Oklahoma all of my life you think I would already have one!

  • @mizzpink98z24cavi wasn't that yesterday? north of elk city, rated an EF2

  • Okay, WTF? How is hoping for tornadoes putting peoples lives in jeopardy? Hoping for it doesn't increase its possibility of happening. Also, I would never hope for tornadoes to destroy life and property but instead to photograph them safely out in the desert. Also, I am a Reporter for the National Weather Service and a private Southern California forecasting authority called SCWXA(dot)org

  • There was already a tornado spotted today in south eastern Oklahoma. I hate tornado season..

  • Now don't get excited about dangerous weather. When you say you are "hoping" for tornadoes, you are putting other people's lives in jeopardy. It all comes down to the old saying, WATCH YOUR MOUTH!

  • Come to my state, Oklahoma. You will get your money's worth. I can guarantee you that.
