the argument is not whether the earth warms and cools - it is about whether human action is interfering with and influence the cycle of fluctuation. The verdict is in from the vast majority of scientists. We are affecting the cycle. Is this a bad thing - predictions are of course risky and never 100%. But it is extremeley likely that the human caused rise in overall temperature will cause environmental disasters.

It is a FACT that at the same exact times the Earth is warming, the other planets in our Solar System warmed in the same proportion. The Sun is the common denominator there and the only real contributor our warming and cooling. Also, are you saying that CO2, which plants BREATHE and we exhale, is bad? Why don't you Google about the 31000 or so scientists who have petitioned Al Gore about G-Warming being NOT MAN-MADE and being a fraud, a consensus you say? Quit drinking the cool aid man!!!

There are over 2,000,000 scientists in the US. 31,000 is about 1.5%. Not a groundswell of opposition. The American Physical Society has over 40,000 members. 160 are on your side. You lose.

And what evidence do you have that the rest of the 2 MIL agree with man-made Global Warming? That's a HUGE ASSumption. Besides, how many times in history has a "consensus" been wrong? Countless times on countless issues. Most folks follow the consensus without challenging its premises and are scared to think for themselves. Also, you dealt with none of the arguments I made in the first comment, so why are all the planets warming at the same time? Martian SUV's?!?!

The Noachian Flood is the cause of the "ice age" (there has been only one) and is the reason the earth is warming.

Dan, continuing my thought... good point and let me expand. What is optimal for a particular ecosystem is different for each type. So what is "effective" for life in one isn't so for another. My overall point is that we just don't have enough information to make the claim. Besides, the icecaps have grown and shrunk many times before SUV's existed, we had NOTHING to do with it then and we don't now. Google "fire and ice global warming" for a BMI report documenting the hoax. It's objective.

Thanks for the comment. I guess what mean is that in context of intelligence man is indeed the "pinnacle" at this time and his actions cannot really be labeled as "damaging" any more than any other creature. Also, look at what Geologists claim about the climate at the time of the dinosaurs, completely different. Based on the wide range of climate changes the earth has had (which does have effects on life) during it's "life"... how could anyone make even a wild guess as to what is optimal.

Ugh! Dude I can see you are trying real hard. But you say some weird things.

Man is NOT the pinnacle of evolution. The theory does not have a "crown jewel" or an "ultimate" or a "final" or a "destination" or a "goal".

You say it's impossible to define a "correct" average temperature. Dude come on ... One way to define an optimal temperature is measure the effectiveness of life in a given eco-system at different temperatures. Does not seem that difficult to me.
