Joshua Morrison grew up in Monroe, WA, on a steady diet of the talented singer/songwriters featured on KEXP. The sounds of David Bazan, Rocky Votolato and Death Cab for Cutie helped forge his passion for honest, heart-felt music. He bought his first guitar for $50 at the age of fifteen and quickly began to craft his own distinct sound.

These days his poignant lyrics are often whispered more than sung and the driving rhythm of his acoustic guitar plays perfect harmony to the integrity of his voice. His first album, Home was released by local Seattle label Expanding Brooklyn and features ten outstanding tracks that will leave you wanting more and there is plenty more to come. Mark Baumgarten of Seattle's Sound Magazine called it one of the greatest albums of 2007.

His star is certainly on the rise. The day after Christmas, 2007, he was able to fulfill a childhood dream by opening a Tractor Tavern show for one of his heroes, local musician Damien Jurado. Earlier this year Joshua played to his largest audience yet at The Sasquatch Music Festival. And KEXP, the radio station of his youth, has championed his music with John Richards, host of The Morning Show, calling himone of the best singer/songwriters this area has seen since Elliott Smith made his home in Portland.
