  • Most pianists drown this in pedal but he plays it with the clarity needed. Great!!!! As Richter said, a god

  • Yea!!!!!!!!!

I love this performance. It's so subtle, charming, gentle, tender. The color is almost a wonder, the example you mentioned is doubtless a highlight,

  • absolutely gorgeous... i'm learning this piece at the moment and i aspire to play it as well as Sofronitsky. my favourite part is from 1.03 - 30ish but the whole piece is so beautiful. i always love Rachmaninoff's melodies & harmonies!

  • I closed my eyes and saw raindrops dancing on the surface of a lake - then the rain quietly stopped...

  • Magnifique, merci.

  • A magnificent performance that is so natural sounding that it hides the great art and technical mastery that went into it. Sofronitsky was one of a handful of the truly great musicians who played the piano; I love this performance very much, and of course the piece is absolutely magnificent.

  • I LOVE CHARLUE THE UNICORN!!!!!!

  • Bravo, Софроницкий -- mentor to Richter and Gilels. His interior accents at 1:20...Superb!
