US President Barack Obama announces he will bring all US troops home from Iraq by the end of the year, saying the future of the two countries will move forward in a different way, including working together on trade and commerce. But is war an effective way to achieve this? It comes at a cost to taxpayers in Iraq of $800 billion to $3 trillion depending on estimates, not even talking about the incalculable costs of lives. What about checkbook diplomacy, which seems to be paying off for a country like China, which is cashing on power and energy in Iraq?

  • This anchor is the greatest. Great guest as well.

  • nice looking reporter with way annoying voice

  • @NurseCentral another reason for the withdrawal is that American forces were scheduled to be under the constraints of sovereign law in Iraq, a situation that would obviously be untenable.

  • @usadear2me watching RT is not an endorsement of Russia. People with functioning brains can separate what's real and what's self serving bullshit. RT is a hundred times more enlightening than the US mainstream media.

  • @NurseCentral

    Interesting...thank you.

  • @closer71 not exactly. the reality is that Obama's pulling only uniformed troops out (a massive State Dept mercenary army of at least 10-20,000 will remain). but as has been reported, Obama is only pulling out because all of his MASSIVE efforts to EXTEND the status of forces agreement failed. He's not leaving because he WANTS to. He's leaving because he HAS to. Al Sadr warned the Iraqi gov't that if they extended, he'd mobilize his loyalists to wage war on them and resume civil war.

  • @TheItchyFetus well said, I just watch in her legs.
