Seriously, kids, any suggestions for digital cameras / camcorders will be much appreciated.

Oh, and one thing I did love about Inception: that ending shot. Chills.

  • Wow. Ten states in 2 weeks sounds like a rock tour. I have a Kodak Zi8. It shoots video in 1080p and even comes with an hdmi port. Uses SD cards to save the video and a 4GB card holds almost 2 hours of footage. I shoot in 720 at 60 frames per second. It has a zoom and takes still photos as well. The still camera is limited but is fantastic some something on the spot. It's the size of n iPhone but a tad more thick. It's with me all the time.

  • @billtvmacon Is that what you shoot most of your videos on? I really like the quality of your videos.

  • I saw Inception and I thought it was a good movie, but I really thought it lacked character development. So many fantastic actors but you could have changed almost any character for anyone else and the movie wouldnt have been affected at all. The only two characters that really got any proper story were Mal and Cobb. That just got under my skin.

  • @WhatIfItDoesSink Oh, for sure. Most everyone is just kind of a tool of the story; interesting, but flat.

  • Expensive option: The Canon range is amazing for photo and video. Cheap option: You can't go wrong with a Flip cam. Nice to talk to you on Skype yesterday.

You know my thoughts on Inception. I quite like the movie but the more I think about it the less I like it. Glad you mentioned the virtual reality thing. Couldn't agree more.

  • @lewisbostock Nice to talk to you as well! I did end up seeing Inception again and was actually able to enjoy it a bit more because I didn't have to focus all my energy on figuring out what was going on. Still, the things that bugged me the first time just bugged me more.

  • JOSH PUT YOUR DAMN HANDS DOWN

  • I just got a dslr canon rebel t3i and I'm in love as far as being easy to become familiar with, 18 megapixels of amazing quality for photos or video. It's worth the cost, every penny.

  • Inception was indeed good but I agree, the way the dreams were created were very unrealistic. Most of my dreams involve bizarre things happening like spoons made of jello or sharks that sing opera. So that kind of disappointed me and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. I enjoy your videos by the way :)

  • um hello WISCONSIN ME!

  • Inception was wonderful. My dreams aren't acid trips like yours. lol they're mostly normal, but with something off.. kind of like the movie.

  • Inception was great, I can't wait to see it again :)

  • Three videos over the Summer? VERY impressive. :D

I use a digital camera for both pictures and my videos. It was less than $200, it's lightweight compared to big HD cameras, and I think it's got pretty decent quality for what it is. It's a Canon Powershot A590, and I just use SD cards. The battery life doesn't last extremely long, but I still like it a lot.

That's a good point about Inception--the way the dreams look IS odd. I did still love the movie and am planning on seeing it again.

  • I thought the exact same thing about the dream sequences in Inception. I've never been able to calmly walk around Paris in mine. My dreams are much more fluid than Nolan's.

I have a crappy Sony digital camera that's a few years old now and is due for replacement but like you I'm lost as to what to get next.

And twenty points to Gryffindor for posting another video!

  • I agree about your Inception insight. I like it a lot, but I don't think it's the masterpiece that everyone is proclaiming it is.

Something that you didn't touch on that bothered me is that no character (aside from Leo's) were really that well rounded as characters. They were character types more than anything. Also, the first part is really slow. So much exposition.
